Our bird watching tour

Accompanied by a specialized local guide you can enjoy watching and listening to birds such as the Glaucous Tanager, Swallow Tanager, the Golden-winged Sparrow, the Green-rumped Parrotlet, the Lance-tailed Manakin or the incredible and vulnerable Military Macaw, among many other species

Birdwatching guide per group: $150,000 COP

​Hiking guide per group: $95,000 COP 

Our reserve is a protected area where vulnerable wild species live. For this reason and for the safety of our visitors, all tours are accompanied by one of our guides.

Practical information

  • Visits without prior reservation are not allowed.

  • Our tour lasts from 3 to 4 hours and is accompanied by a local guide specialized in bird watching

  • If you have binoculars, bring them.

  • Make sure you come with closed shoes (tennis, rubber boots), hat, repellent and sunscreen, water and a bag for your waste

  • Tours must be booked at least 48 hours in advance

Cancellation policy

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the start of the tour, excluding bank commissions if applicable.

  • After that period, your payment will not be refunded.

  • Cancellation by the Reserve due to weather conditions that prevent the tour from taking place: The tour is postponed to other possible dates. If this is not possible, we will proceed to refund the payment, excluding bank commissions if they apply.

Location

We are located a 30 minute drive from Valledupar on the road that connects La Paz to Manaure and that leads to Páramo del Perijá. The access to the Reserve is very easy and there is daily public transportion from Valledupar between 6:00h and 18:00h.
