Come and enjoy the benefits of walking in nature and discover the surprising Tropical Dry Forest, with its extraordinary diversity and its ability to resist up to 5 months of drought followed by several months of intense rain.​

Las Orquídeas, La Majagua, El Salto, El Bosque Nativo and La Palma, are the trails of different degrees of difficulty that run through our Reserve, some with easy access and little unevenness.

The perfect place to listen and observe birds and some of the forest animals that inhabit this incredible ecosystem.

The guided walks last 3 to 4 hours and are accompanied by an expert local guide who will explain many of the secrets of the Tropical Dry Forest.

Guidance fees

Our reserve is a protected area where vulnerable wild species live. For this reason and for the safety of our visitors, all tours are accompanied by one of our guides.

Practical information

​​

  • Visits without prior reservation are not allowed.

  • Tour duration: 3 to 4 hours

  • Do not forget to bring binoculars to observe some of the incredible birds that inhabit our Reserve.

  • Make sure you come with closed shoes (tennis, rubber boots), hat, repellent and sunscreen, water and a bag for your waste.

  • Tours must be booked at least 48 hours in advance

Cancellation policy

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the start of the tour, excluding bank commissions if applicable.

  • After that period, your payment will not be refunded.

  • Cancellation by the Reserve due to weather conditions that prevent the tour from taking place: The tour is postponed to other possible dates. If this is not possible, we will proceed to refund the payment, excluding bank commissions, if applicable.

Location


We are located a 30 minute drive from Valledupar on the road that connects La Paz to Manaure and that leads to Páramo del Perijá. The access to the Reserve is very easy and there is daily public transportion from Valledupar between 6:00h and 18:00h.
